Self love is vital to our spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing. Often times, we tend to put our attention or love towards everyone else in our lives, and not ourselves. What we don’t realize, is that approach actually helps no one and ends up hurting us. The more attention and love you give to yourself first, the more you will have for yourself AND others.
This was something I struggled with for a long time as a mom. I was busy helping everyone else and having nothing left for me. This made me more sluggish and have less patience. In the past few years I have been making me more of a priority and it has helped me be a more energetic, patient, and loving mom and wife. Now I feel like my cup is over flowing, which means I then have some to share!
Here are a few things you can do to help get you started with Self Love:
Do something JUST for you once a day.
Look in the mirror and tell yourself “ I love you”
Thank your body for all the wonderful things it does for you everyday.
Make a list of 10 qualities you like about yourself.
Sit quietly for 5 minutes and breathe while imagining a warm healing light surrounding your body and fueling it with love. This light can come from within you, and then spread out, or it can come down from source. Whatever feels right for you.
